My Story
If C. S. Lewis was the most reluctant convert, Haley V. was the most reluctant writer and teacher. After graduating in 2014 with a degree in English literature, it took her a whole year to come to terms with her call to teach.
Two years after starting her teaching career in Vicksburg, MS, Haley V. moved to Brandon, MS to teach high school English at a small country school east of Jackson. While she started the process of adjusting to her new home in 2017, Haley V. began to feel a call to write a book.
Even so, it wasn’t until the global pandemic trapped her at her parents’ farm that she truly began to pursue learning how to write.
Since then, she has published two books, two guided journals, and several stories in Guideposts. She now teaches 8th grade English at that small country school, and she and her husband are excited to welcome their first child, a sweet baby girl, this July.
